It’s not unusual to hear football coaches say that turnovers, like bananas, come in bunches.
Unfortunately for Sean Payton and the New Orleans Saints, turnovers don’t grow on trees. You can’t buy them at the local grocery store, either.
Which is why the Saints are focusing on doing a better job of creating turnovers in the final seven games of the season, a must if they hope to get to the playoffs and be a factor in the postseason.
Through nine games, the Saints are tied for 30th in the NFL with only 10 takeaways — six fumbles and four interceptions. The Houston Texans also have 10, five more than the Washington Redskins.
