The New Orleans Saints start their playoff journey versus the Minnesota Vikings in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans and basically everything you could say about the matchup has been said or written.
Defensively the Saints need to stop the vaunted Vikings rushing attack led by Dalvin Cook and force quarterback Kirk Cousins to be the one to defeat them.
Offensively the Saints need to keep Drew Brees clean from the edge pass rush attack led by the Vikings tandem of Everson Griffen and former LSU standout Danielle Hunter.
And the Saints must show and continue to emphasize balance on offense between the run and pass.
Also, be sure to take notice of how much more quarterback/special teams wizard Taysom Hill gets involved in the offense as a wide receiver.
Off the field, the Saints front office led by Mickey Loomis, Jeff Ireland, Terry Fontenot and head coach Sean Payton did not rest on their laurels and continued from the end of the 2018 season until the final week of the regular season to add players they felt could help them put this team playing on Super Bowl Sunday.
