Over 20 years ago, I got some real words of wisdom from one of Louisiana’s top sports journalists, Hap Glaudi.
Glaudi was the real pioneer of sports anchors in New Orleans on television after a long career as The Times-Picayune’s sports editor.
After a 35-year run of being the most-recognized, most-read and most-watched sports anchor in south Louisiana, WWL-television fired Glaudi in the mid-1970s when the move across the nation was to go to younger, more grammatically correct sportscasters.
Glaudi, dubbed "the Dean of Sports Anchors in the state of Louisiana," resurfaced as WWL 870-AM radio’s the sports director and his shows and commentary became the first real "can’t miss" sports talk show in the state. Full Story - Courier
