mobile printer Code question (1 Viewer)

In C#, I am trying to print a label that is pulling information from a SQL Server Database. I've already tested printing test labels w/o any information from the database and they WORK. But when I try to pull a field it does not print. When I set up a break point, I discovered that my field "strHeatlabel" is null. Could someone look at my code and tell me what I could be doing wrong?

If that's exactly how your SQL code is written, I think it should be

"select top 1 lineno_...." (no parentheses, but add spaces)

Of course SQL may recognize both. Run it in a query window to make sure your SQL is returning results.

In the debugger, click on the rdr object, make sure it isn't null or empty.
thinking you should probably take that cmd out and make into dataset. then act on it.

The query does return a value in SQL but the reader object is coming out null. I have similar code in the project that is working fine. I think that I am just overlooking something here.

I fixed it. I needed to add

while (rdr.Read())
{
     strHeatLabel = rdr["HEATNUMBER"].ToString();
    .
    .
    .
}
