moon pies are throws in certain parades, so it's hard for me to evaluate them independent of that
but in general i prefer a softer/gooier cookie to a crispy one (except for ginger snaps)

I love the crispy ginger snaps. For some reason, the softer ones are just nasty.

Paul Prudhomme made some kind of sauce using ginger snaps but he said only one brand would work and never said what the brand was. I still want to know even though I’m never likely to make the sauce.

Yes. It's a marshmallow sandwich, so that's how it should be. It's not a giant sandwich cookie.

I lived across the bay from Mobile in Daphne my senior year of high school. At Mardi Gras in Mobile, Moon Pies were pretty much the only thing they three at the parades...virtually nothing else

I was almost as disappointed at that as I was at being detained in a paddy wagon
