Is it bad that when I look at the points statistic, the first thing I think of is "Well dang, if our line hadn't collapsed against the Lions and allowed that FG block, we'd be #1."?

Now, on to a few more items on Brees. Since his first full season as a starter in 2002, Brees has 18 games in which he has thrown for at least 300 yards and three touchdown passes. Take a look at where that ranks him among quarterbacks in that same time frame:
Drew Brees: 18
Peyton Manning: 15
Tom Brady: 12
Brett Favre: 12
Tony Romo: 11
