Seeing our boys play so up and down the last few weeks got me thinking about the team's most impressive wins since 2012. What if we put them together as a sort of Hall of Fame over the last 5 seasons week by week, just for fun. Here's what it might look like. These are just my opinions:

Wk 1: vs Falcons 23-17 (2013)
Easy but sad choice since this is the only time in the last 5 year's we've won our opening game.

Wk 2: @Bucs 16-14 (2013)
Easy but sad choice since this is the only time in the last 5 year's we've won in week 2.

Wk 3: vs Cardinals 31-7 (2013)
Gets the nod over the 20-9 win in 2014 over the Vikings as this game was a blowout from the start.

Wk 4: vs Dolphins 38-17 (2013)
Other choices for this week were vs Cowboys 26-20 in OT (2015) and @ Chargers 35-34 (2016). The Dolphins game gets the nod due to all around complete team effort.

Wk 5: @ Bears 26-18 (2013)
Other choices were vs Chargers 31-24 (2012) and vs Bucs 37-31 in OT (2014). Bears get the nod due to the revenge game at Soldier Field from the 2006 NFCCG.

Wk 6: vs Falcons 31-21 (2015)
Other choice was vs Panthers 41-38 (2016). Falcons game gets the nod because...it's the Falcons.

Wk 7: @ Colts 27-21 (2015)
Other option in week 7 was @ Bucs 35-28 from 2012. They surprised me this week last year holding Luck down for 3.5 quarters.

Wk 8: vs Packers 44-23 (2014)
The Saints seem to play very well in week 8 every year, with wins in 2013 (vs Bills 35-17), 2015 (vs Giants 52-49) and 2016 (vs Seahawks 25-20). And while a strong case could be made for finally beating the Seahawks, the second half of that 2014 Packers game was dominant stuff on both sides of the ball.

Wk 9: @ Panthers 28-10 (2014)
Impressive road victory against a divisional rival after a huge home win the previous week against the Packers. Other choices were vs Eagles 28-13 (2012) and @ 49ers 41-23 (2016).

Wk 10: vs Cowboys 49-17 (2013)
Beating the Falcons 31-27 in 2012 was great but the massacre of the Cowboys, setting NFL records no less, is a no-brainer.

Wk 11: vs 49ers 23-20 (2013)
Revenge game from the 2011 playoffs in SF. Only other choice for this week was @ Raiders 38-17 (2012).

Wk 12: vs Rams 49-21 (2016)
Beating the Falcons 17-13 in 2013 was great but this year's shellacking of Gregg William's Rams was awesome to watch. No brainer.

Wk 13: @ Steelers 35-32 (2014)
Easy but sad choice since this is the only time in the last 5 year's we've won in week 13.

Wk 14: vs Panthers 31-13 (2013)
A Bucs 24-17 win in 2015 was fairly hollow. Meanwhile, a thorough whipping of the Panthers in 2013 gave hope for a playoff push that year.

Wk 15: vs Bucs 41-0 (2012)
Any blowout win is good. A blowout win while shutting out your opponent, a division rival no less? That's great stuff. Other choices were @ Bears 31-15 (2014) and @ Cards 48-41 (2016)

Wk 16: @ Cowboys 34-31 OT (2012)
Beating the Cowboys always rumps beating the Jaguars 38-27 (2015).

Wk 17: vs Bucs 42-17 (2013)
Also @ Bucs 23-20 (2014) and @ Falcons 20-17 (2015) but the 2013 version had more at stake and was the most impressive of the three. A win this year in Atlanta that somehow puts us in the playoffs would trump this selection.

Some random musings I noticed:

- Having so few choices in weeks 1-4 underscores just how horrible the team starts each season. Payton has to change up his approach to training camps.
- 2013 was our last great year as a complete team that often dominated.
- Of the 17 selections, only a combined 3 have come from this year and last year.

Nice idea, although our win over the Cowboys in wk 16 2012 wasn't on Thanksgiving - that was in wk 12 in 2010.

when we kicked the Patriots butt in the dome.... but it is too far away

Saints 38, Patriots 17, 11/30/09 at Superdome

Wk 9: @ Panthers 28-10 (2014)
Impressive road victory against a divisional rival after a huge home win the previous week against the Packers.

A little more perspective - played and beat the playoff bound Packers on a Sunday NIGHT game. Went to Carolina for a Thursday night game after Carolina had a HOME noon game on the Sunday prior. Still amazed we beat the Panthers that night.
