Gayle Benson, RedJem, and Kay Adams are the top sweethearts on this site.

Anybody messing with them gets our ire up, putting the perps in danger of getting their arse’s kicked into oblivion!

:gosaints:
What are me and Capital City Saint, huh? Chopped liver?

As a NOLA car jacker you just have to have more situational awareness. You can't be jackin the owner of the Saints! The perp should've apologized and told her he'd just get the next one.
I heard from a very good source, Gayle offered the perpetrators season tickets for the remainder of this year, for as many family and friends they could round up. And she threw in 2 suites!! The perpetrators accepted and then immediately took to second lining, while ol Gayle tooted the horn, waved, and went on her way!!! LMAO.

The Benson’s had that, up until the chauffeur they had, gave conflicting views on the three “R’s”. Once he did so in a deposition, Tom cur him loose after like 27 years of being his right hand man/security/chauffeur. But the truth of the matter is. Why should ANYONE, have to fear for their personal property and safety anyway? Carjacking is a FELONY!

While i do think that the danger of living daily life in NOLA is, in general , overblown by people who live in places like Mandeville and Destrehan- i have long thought that it was possible for someone like Drew Brees to be a victim of a crime in the City that would then give NOLA a black eye on a national level... It never occurred to me that it might happen to Ms Gayle, though she presumably drives a super nice Benz like most of the coaches and Tom Benson drove... However, i do think that this literally could have happened in any large-ish city which has good and bad areas, so i really hope the pearl-clutching is kept at a minimum in re to this being any more a ‘New Orleans problem’ rather than an ‘America’ problem.
She probably does not drive. A couple of years after Katrina I was living on the lakefront and I was walking by the harbor and in front of me a nice S class pulled out and the Bensons were sitting in the back. It was so cool!

And I looked into the gate and they had their big yacht parked right there. So I doubt she was the driver.

She doesn’t need a driver. She needs personal security. She is a potential target based on her net worth. That’s maybe a million a year contract for a trained crew. Escorts during business hours, home security and emergency recall. That’s an easy business call for me if I’m Dennis Lauscha. Not different than insurance. I’m doing that for Ms. Benson right now if I’m him.

From a loyalty standpoint she would never be in that situation ever again. Over my dead body. That’s honoring Mr. Benson and Ms. Benson who has done so much for the city and region.

Just like insider trading and a host of other crimes. Why do my car and house have alarm systems? Why several people in the NOLA, and throughout the country, have firearms?

Apparently she yelled at them to get out of her car. They then got out of her car, back into their own car, and drove away. So, it sounds like she was pretty in control. Which is amazing for anyone much less a person that age.
Marcus Williams would of let them take it to the house

The driver went into a business. Probably the Shell across from Tulane. It was 6200 Claiborne.
Yea that's doesn't surprise me if that's the one they stopped at. I know that strip mall area gets a lot of crime reports from when I was looking at renters apps and crime maps. Weird though because you go three more blocks and everything calms down.

It's like over by me in Mid City. The Tulane Ave/Carralton intersection has all kinds of crime reports all the time but then you go 500 feet and cross Banks and they just stop.

After reading more details of what unfolded, I would be questioning the driver big time. Appears this could have been a setup to me. Call me cynical all you want, but I hardly trust or put anything past someone doing something so brazen, nowadays. Seems very odd, they just happened to be in the perfect place and at the perfect time.
