The Panthers are reportedly close to signing free agent Muhsin Muhammad.
Profootballtalk.com reports the deal would pay Moose $1.5 million annually, a fair number and not far off what he would've made in Chicago. We suspect the contract is for three years. Muhammad wouldn't be guaranteed a starting spot in Carolina, but would push Dwayne Jarrett and likely play in three-receiver sets with Steve Smith possibly moving to the slot on those downs. probably. He was on local radio last week hoping a deal could be reached. He still lives in Charlotte.

good we can cover old and slow recievers..its the young fast ones that get us...well and joey galloway

He's older now, so maybe he lost a step (knocking on wood that he has and won't sign in CAR)...

But he sometimes use to torch us...

Laugh now cry later, all the more reason we need corners. Desmond Clark beat Fred Thomas in the NFC Championship game and Jeremy Stevens beat Jason Craft for the winning TD last year in the TB game. Those are T.E.'s he's a reciever. Our corners can't even cover tight ends. Were in serious trouble.

if anything, it'll provide a solid #2 wr opposite of smith...and somebody to mentor dwayne jarrett..

I think they're also talking to Don Hutson.
