My barber, Jenna, told me about how she likes children, but was unable to conceive. So she got a puppy and happily raised it for many years.

About two years ago, an animal shelter rescued a puppy who was being drowned in a cardboard box. The rescue shelter named the puppy “Chico.” Jenna’s mom obtained the puppy a week after that. Then, a few days later, Jenna’s dog died.

She was devastated.

With Christmas only a few weeks away, Jenna’s mom surprised her by putting Chico in a large stocking, and giving it to her as a gift. Jenna was overjoyed, and named the puppy “Chico Jameis,” because she followed J. Winston throughout his time at FSU: Jameis was her favorite player!

She still follows Jameis with the Saints! She works at a Sport Clips in Mesa, AZ.

It’s quite a tribute when a woman who was childless respects and thinks enough of someone to name a cherished pet after them.

Again, she told me that Jameis was a great player, and an even better human being (in her eyes).
