Pitching is for wimps. Real men don't need it and don't want it. No, real men hit baseballs with bats. That's what real men do.

Every game will look like a football score but in the end we'll win 85 games and our division. We'll sweep the Mets and Dodgers and take it to the Yankees in the World Series. The Braves will be the first baseball team in history to go an entire season winless.

That prediction and a buck will get you that lotto ticket you will never win with.

You people have no faith in my 'Stros.

Saint Mike, there's something I need to tell you. It's not going to be easy for you to hear but it's something that needs to be said. Braves Fan = Falcons Fan. If you root for one team from Atlanta then you have to take them all. You = Vick fan. I'll pray for you.

:hihi: We'll have to meet up for the Falcons vs. Texans game this season.

CovDog,
I love your prediction. At least your realistic enough to know that on days when Roy O isn't pitching, our guys will have to put up football scores to win.

To the credit of Drayton, if one looks at the batting order of the 'Stros, it's pretty formidable on paper, and there isn't any sizable hole as has been the case recently. It's a big turnaround from the last few years.

However, the pitching side is pretty scary after Roy. I can only hope that Backe will come back stronger than he ever was and at least one more starter will be a pleasant surprise.

Still, we're going to have to rely on those bats for wins. At least it looks like it will be exciting this year with lots of offense instead of long, dull 0-0 or 1-1 games threatening to go multiple extra innings without more hits...

Go 'Stros, baby!!!!! Looking forward to opening day...

Oh boy. The State hospital is doing a number on you. Starting to sound like a Cubbie fan.

BTW, ain't no truth to the Braves/Falcons theory.

Oh no, Houston's not cursed like Atlanta. You can actually be an Astros fan without being a Texans fan. You, one the other hand, may as well have fought those dogs yourself.

Truthfully, my mom and dad are huge Braves fans. Year before last we made it to the 'Stros vs. Braves game to end the season in Atlanta. Great weekend of baseball. Last season I was planning to do it again (Houston this time) but I waited too long to buy my tickets and Biggio announced his retirement and suddenly no tickets could be found for the last weekend. They're doing it again this year...closing the season out against the Braves in Houston. I will be there this time.

:_rofl: Cursed be the day I root for the Falclowns.

Nah, Cubs fans are rivaled only by Notre Dame fans. Like Notre Dame, they start every year with championship aspirations and even find some sports writers to back them up. Like Notre Dame, every year they suck.

Better than he ever was is right. Many 'Stros fans seem to remember Backe being better than he actually was pre-injury. He has good stuff but is inconsistent as all Hell.

I like Wandy. He's freaking Roger Clemons at home. If he can learn to pitch on the road he'll be fine.

The Old Man (Woody) scares me to death every time he pitches. I have always hated fly ball pitchers anyway and he's not even a good one. He gives us alot of innings though.

Yes, I'm sure the mighty bat of Ty Wiggington will carry the 'Stros all the way to the top!

(Not really. They'll fight the Pirates and Giants for the worst record in the NL)

Ty should be the weak link this year. We had up to 4 bats last year weaker than his. Our lineup will be stronger but we did nothing to improve our pitching.

And I don't think anybody will compete with the Giants for worst record in the NL.

Hou-Dat day at Minute Maid, perhaps? We'll have to get tickets to one of those games...I love cheering against the Braves...:hihi:

Got my Yankees/Astros tickets...oh, yea....:youpi-12: :youpi-12: :youpi-12:
