This would be my dream draft which I just had in a PFF mock draft simulator. I wanted 3 defensive players and 2 offensive players in this draft, but Eason is the wild card.

1. Kenneth Murray LB OU - my guy who would start at MIKE from the jump

3. Jacob Eason QB Washington - I hope he falls to our 3rd round pick and we take him cause I rather Taysom stay at the joker spot.

4. Reggie Robinson II CB Tulsa - take the best corner available here or in the 3rd. Robinson at 6’1” 205 and runs a 4.44 40 would be an ideal candidate

5. Joe Reed WR Virginia - my guy who would battle Tre’Quan for the 3rd receiver spot. He would also be our back up return man that we do need IMO

6. A.J. Dillon RB/FB Boston College - doubt he would fall this far, but it’s a dream scenario. We would essentially have our starting FB and 3rd RB in one package opening a roster spot. He would add another wrinkle to our offense in the mold of 49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk. If not Dillon than a tight end would be ideal in the 6th.

Then we sign Alec Ogletree to play SAM.

Offense(22):
QB: Brees, Taysom, Eason
RB: Kamara, Murray
FB: Dillon
WR: Thomas, Sanders, Reed, Tre’Quan, Harris
TE: Cook, Hill

C: McCoy, Tom
RG: Warford
RT: Ramczyk

Defense(28):

DT: Rankins, Onyemata
DT: Brown, Tuttle
DE: Davenport, TRex, Granderson

CB: Lattimore, Hardee
FS: Marcus, Swearinger, Hampton

I like it. In this dream scenario, I would prefer to sign Everson Griffen to sure up our pass rush. That would give the Saints 3 experienced veterans to sure up weaknesses in key areas. Jenkins in the secondary, Griffin on the line, and Sanders that much needed 4th option we didn’t have last year. Yes, I said 4th. Thomas, Kamara, and Cooks should all remain ahead of him in the target category.

I haven’t even thought of us utilizing a pick on a Juszczyk/Heath Evans type player. We struggled dramatically in the run game when we didn’t have that true FB in the game last year. Plus, we haven’t had a gadget type guy in that position in a while. I like where your heads at.
