Trades:
Swap our 10th for Eagles 19th and Lito Sheppard
Trade Simoneau and our #146(5th) for Atlanta's #103(4th)

The Eagles stated that they wanted to swap their first and Lito, so we should take advantage of this.

Simoneau should be appealing to the Falcons, due to the fact that they only have one linebacker who has ever started a game (Keith Brookling).
In the last two years, Simoneau has had 131 tackles, 3 sacks, and 1 interception

Draft

1st: Keith Rivers
LB, USC
4.51

2nd: Trevor Laws
DT, Notre Dame
5.08

3rd: Shawn Crable
LB/DE, Michigan
4.64

4th: Tyrell Johnson
S, Arkansas St.
4.45

6th: Martin Rucker
TE, Missouri
4.71

7th: Brandon Coutu
K, Georgia

Undrafted Free-Agents

Ryan Grice-Mullen
WR, Hawaii
Did great at Hawaii, picking up 1,372 recieving yards last year

Jacob Hester
HB/FB, LSU
Great runner at LSU; can help backup Deuce and Karney

Final Roster
Offense

QB: Drew Brees, Mark Brunell, Tyler Palko
Mark Brunell is a solid backup
Tyler Palko is still developing and showed potential last year

HB: Reggie Bush, Deuce McAllister, Pierre Thomas, Aaron Stecker
This year is Reggie's breakout year, 1000+ rushing yard season
Deuce agrees to paycut
Pierre Thomas looked great last year, and continues to show his potential
Aaron Stecker is good depth

FB: Mike Karney

WR: Marques Colston, Robert Meachem, David Patten, Devery Henderson, Lance Moore, Terrence Copper
Robert Meachem steps up and takes the starting job
Patten continues to be a consistent vet.
Devery Henderson is working and will show improvement on his hands
Lance Moore is overrated
Terrence Copper will get a few more catches than last year and continue to contribute on special teams

TE: Eric Johnson, Billy Miller, **Martin Rucker
Martin Rucker played a big part in Missouri's offense

T: Jammal Brown, Zach Strief, Jon Stinchcomb, Jermon Bushrod
Jon Stinchcomb is too inconsistent and Zach Strief looked good last year, so he'll start
Jermon Bushrod continues to develop

G: Jahri Evans, Matt Lehr, Jamar Nesbit, Andy Alleman
Matt Lehr is better than Nesbit

C: Jonathon Goodwin, Jamar Nesbit
Goodwin played better than Faine last year

Defense (3-4)

DE: Will Smith, Charles Grant, Bobby McCray, Josh Cooper
Despite trade rumors we keep Smith
Grant appears to be losing weight
Bobby McCray will rotate in and help us alot in pass rushing
Cooper is a solid young backup

DT: Brian Young, **Trevor Laws, Antwan Laws
Trevor Laws had 112 tackles last year and will help our defensive line immensely

LB: Jonathon Vilma, Scott Fujita, **Keith Rivers, **Shawn Crable, Dan Morgan, Scott Shanle
Vilma completely recovers from his injury and is the best defender on this team
Keith Rivers and Shawn Crable will strongly improve our LB corps
Dan Morgan will provide veteran leadership and depth
Shanle has time to prove himself and hasn't, so he won't start

CB: Mike McKenzie, **Lito Sheppard, Randall Gay, Jason David, Usama Young
McKenzie will most likely not be ready to start at the beginning of the season, so Sheppard will start
Usama Young showed alot of potential last season and will continue to grow this season

S: Roman Harper, Josh Bullocks, Kevin Kaesviharn, **Tyrell Johnson, Chris Reis
Josh Bullocks, rookie Tyrell Johnson, and Kevin Kaesviharn battle it out for the starting job
Chris Reis continues to contribute on special teams

Special Teams

K: Martin Gramatica, **Brandon Coutu
Martin looked pretty good last year
Rookie Brandon Coutu has an incredible leg, 58-yard field goal last season

P: Steave Weatherford

KR: Michael Lewis
We bring Beerman back

PR: Reggie Bush
Let Reggie return punts again

Kevin Houser- Not enough roster spaces to keep a LS
Mark Simoneau- *Trade
Troy Evans – Too much talent
McKinley Boykin – Has had long enough to show something
Mark Campbell
Kendrick Clancy – Didn’t play well last year
Hollis Thomas - Overweight

What do you guys think??

We don't have the right players to run a 3-4, and Vilma is good in a 4-3. so we will run a 4-3. I don't see the point of getting 2 LBs.

We dont run a 3-4. Mitchell won't be on the PS. He is a special Team contributor. Thomas won't be cut. If that was our dt's we'd be ****. Love the draft but the final roster needs work. Lehar won't start over Nesbit. Alleman will start over him before Lehar

I wouldn't mind drafting 2 linebackers. Fujita has no backup. Vilma is still not guaranteed 100%. Morgan is almost guaranteed to get a concussion so yeah we should draft 2 linebackers

i love the draft also it is great but did anybody else here that maybe smith and mccray will start DE and then thomas grant and young will swap out in the DT position and yea i like the 4-3 defense better than the 3-4 for the saints morgan on the right vilma in the middle and fujita on the left and then i heard mckenzie will be back so him and sheppard for corners and then harper and bullocks

Ehhhh...

Don't see carrying just 3 DT's, we'll carry 4 and I suspect 3 of them will be named Brian, Hollis and Kendrick.

If we do draft Rivers (and that could certainly happen), then I very much doubt we would take Crable. He's not really a good fit for us anyway.

Dont' see Nesbit losing his job. Not that I am overly thrilled about that, just don't see anything in Lehr's past or Alleman's near future to see that happening.

I'm pretty sure that Grice-Mullin and Hester both get drafted. But I do like both of them.

Jason Craft is a solid nickel corner, and backup. We can't cut him as of now.

Yeah, i agree. Sorry OP.

kevin houser is the longest tenured saint at this point (i think). i doubt we get rid of him.

We will not get rid of Houser! Payton found out last year what happens when you get rid of good special team players. Houser in my opinion is the best long snapper in the league!!!!

We will not switch to a 3-4 for reasons already posted in this thread. I cannot see us getting rid of both Hollis and Clancy unless we get one of the two top tackles in the draft.

Jason Craft, while not the best DB on our team has been too important to us when our top DB's get hurt, I just cannot see him getting cut. if we pick up another safety you can look at Chris getting cut.
