N/S Myles Garrett claims Mason Rudolph used a racial slur against him (2 Viewers)

This is always a subject you should tread lightly on, but....

I'm a white guy. I been on a number of teams all the way through college where I was one of a handful of white guys, and the team was about 85% black. Much like the NFL.

I can assure you that my black teammates would never, ever give me some sort of pass on saying the "n - word" to an opponent. Ever. I would have gotten my a** beat, no matter how close I was to my teammates and how much we hated the opponent.

For that reason, I have a really, really hard time believing Garrett here. Plus, he just sort of remembered to bring up the racial slurs a full week later? Ok.....

If Mason is free and clear, a defamation suit is lurking. He may change his mind and file assault charges for fun.
If he's on any field recordings saying racial slurs, his career is over.
The evidence would already be burned in ashes of the Patriots stolen film and bounty gate "Evidence".

But Rudolph does not get a suspension? If he were black do you think he gets suspended?

Did Cam Newton get suspended for tackling Roman Harper to the ground by violently pulling his facemask after starting a fight in the endzone?

What Rudolph did isn't good, but it's not something anyone typically gets suspended for and it happens multiple times in on field altercations every season.

Well there both black men so that point is irrelevant.

That makes no kind of sense at all. If the NFL just wants to punish black guys unfairly, why didn't they do it to Newton when they had the chance?

The NFL wants guys like Myles Garrett on the field. It's what drives ratings, especially for a team like the Browns. The idea that they are out to get him doesn't pass the smell test.

He wasn’t innocent at all, but he didn’t use a racial slur. IMO.

And you know this because you were on the field when it happened?

i don’t know whether it’s true or not. If it turns out that Myles lied about this, I think the suspension should be lengthened. That said, I’m not about to jump to either man’s defense until more evidence comes out. The league has access to the audio. If Mason said it, the proof will be there.

I do find it interesting that so many believe that words can’t get uttered on the field of play where teammates can’t hear. Mason and Myles were the only two on the ground when the incident began. Rudolph and Myles were basically face to face, so he wouldn’t have had to yell out the pejorative in order for Myles to hear him.

Now, I do have a hard time believing Mason would be that stupid to say such a thing surrounded by Black teammates, even if he harbors thinking like that. But, then again, Ritchie Icognito is still in the league and he was proven to harass his Black teammate.

Exactly.

i don't

Exactly.

I doubt he whispered into his ear.

Pouncey wouldn't stand for that. Rudolph wouldn't be on this team.

I don’t know what was or was not said during this scrum.

I do know that how a Pouncey brother reacts to said scrum will not affect how I perceive a situation.

The Pouncey’s have actually stood for far (far) worse behavior. Their initial reactions shouldn’t matter at all.

I don’t. That’s why I stated it’s my opinion. Nothing more. Maybe it’s easy for me as I’m not a racist. Give two you know what and a shake about your complexion. It’s the inside I judge a man or woman’s merit on.
And as I’ve lived my life to not be racist, nor see color...father and I were brought up in an all black church which I loved and the members dearly....I get sick of all of this.
And on the audio, I’ve already posted a player’s tweet regarding this very thing, saying exactly that.
