The Rams, Falcons, and Eagles tried to hire him during the early 70's, but he waited until Dan Devine left GB for Notre Dame. Starr was on Devine's staff one year (1972), and called the plays. However, he and Devine couldn't go exist.

My father actually named me after him... my first name is Bart. RIP Bart Starr, a football legend and one of the really good guys off the field too.

That makes two of us then. When I was born (1/1/61), the Packers were my Dad's favorite team. Of course, that changed in 1967. There aren't a lot of us Bart's out there.
