St. Pike,

I truly admire and respect you for continuing to post and trying to understand why some of us feel that her post was racist. Many that initially posted said their piece and didn't wait to hear a response. This forum is intended for discussions, but that is their right to state an opinion and leave. I went back and read my posts and several others and then I analyzed your and tried to rationalize why you feel we are incorrect and feel we took it personal. The racism today is not as blatant and typically not as violent as it was centuries and decades ago, but that doesn't mean when you witness an act that you believe to be racist you "turn a blind eye" and ignore it. I saw where some went to the extent to check her blogs and social media posts, and I simply am not willing to put that much time and effort into this issue. When I saw, it being discussed in this topic, I initially just came to browse and read other people's thoughts and feelings. When I first read her post, my first thought was my first thought was why we should post this. Now maybe she always posts things about her husband's game and this may not be the first time she flew off the hinges about a play, but I didn't know she was white are any other information about her. When I started reading people's posts on this site, I was surprised that everyone was attacking Ellias for stating he felt it was racist. What you perceived to be anger in my posts was not even directed at the kicker's wife, it was my reaction to other posters on here. You appear to be an educated man, but there is nothing than can be read or studied that can allow to presume how many black men in America feel or view specific issues. Notice I didn't say all black men in America, but the clear majority. One can sympathize, empathize, and even emulate but there is no substitution for how we view the world and how the world views us. If you go back and read the comments, none of us that believed she knew exactly what she was saying and understood the racist implications, were mad we just simply stated our belief. Then I want you to read the reactions to our posts and tell me, who you think was truly angry. If people would have simply stated that they didn't take her comments that way, this thread would have been 3 pages long. The truth is we will probably never know what her intentions were when she posted this, but as you can see from the different reactions from people based on their experiences and upbringing. I know many people feel black Americans are overly sensitive about racial issues, but this is just how we feel about certain issues and it’s hard to not react when there is crap being constantly thrown at you, it may not be directed at you, but it demonstrates how people feel about your race. Race is a polarizing issue in the world and it will continue to be, but if we all could just respect others opinions I think things would be much easier. To show how different races in America view different things in sports I will throw out a couple of names without discussing them and just let them sink in before you respond, Cam Newton, Colin Kapernick, Michael Vick, Richard Sherman, Serena Williams, and Tiger Woods.

It is pretty clear in this excerpt that you posted that was not the norm. If you are going to make an assertion then I have every right to be "as informed as you" and asked for the source of your claim. Your source was an article based on a series of publications.

First, I never attacked anyone. The ad hom was directed at me. I responded to statements made.

I do not believe any one group of people are hypersensitive. Political correctness makes it easy to play the victim card.

As for breeding purposes, male slaves were inspected sometime around puberty, and underdeveloped males were castrated on the spot. An uncastrated male was expected to in most cases procreate at a specific level. I forget the actual numbers. I'll find some source material on these though.
