Why is the clock continuing to run when the player goes out of Bounds and the ref is signaling to stop the clock?!

Because that's the rule until under 5 minutes.

I bet the clock operator started the clock when he saw the Cowboys coaches doing the wind clock signal, :hihi:.

The clock kept running after the player went out of bounds. Now it's possible the ref changed the signal but he first made the signal to stop the clock when the player went out of bounds. Never saw the ref do the wind clock signal.

Did they pick up the flag on the out of bounds kick? The Cowboys touched the ball first, therefore no penalty. Refs are stupid.

Seems like this needs to be explained every week. This is nothing new guys.

The clock only completely stops for out of bounds in the last two minutes of the first half and the last five minutes of the game.

Yeah, I think they did cause the ball was snapped from the 47.

Correct. Other than that it stops momentarily and then restarts. This rule was implemented a few years back to speed up the game.

You stop the clock until the ball is spotted. Then it starts again. That's what you were seeing.

If you go out of bounds you stop until snap. If you get stopped on forward progress, clock doesn't stop. That's how I've always understood the rules. Did they change the rules?

But he did go out of bounds with less than 5 minutes left in the game. That should be a stoppage until snap.

Unless it was actually ruled forward progress, which isn't a clock stoppage. I don't understand how a momentary clock stoppage would happen.
