As bad as the Dolphins are, they could cut almost everybody and start from scratch.

As for a backup QB, the Saints don't need a veteran. They need to keep rotating through FA youngsters in search of an eventual replacement for Brees. Brees has 5-7 years left, but why not zero in on a quality backup for the long term? Anyway, if the Saints can bring around a young QB, he might even be trade bait in a few years.
