N/S Eli Manning With Possible Plantar Fasciitis (1 Viewer)

It kept me from running for almost 2 years. Cortizone shots, arch supports, plaster splints, icing etc...

It was seriously awful.

It's painful, but he can probably just get a cortisone shot and play with it.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but Mortenson said earlier tonight that they might not be able to shoot it up because lack of feeling back there could cause the tendon to rupture.

Michael Jordan had it too. I remember that Nike put a plate in the shoes to help him with his problem.

I'm sure that something even better exists today and that Manning will be wearing it.

Sure did !! Nike put it in the greatest shoe ever made. It's totally correctable and Manning will be playing

Pretty sure B. Young had it last year. I think I had it as a kid, but had no idea what it was. I was a pretty heavy kid and it feels like your arch is collapsing.. i.e. just a painful stab on the bottom of your foot. I got arch supports and stayed off my feet. It pretty much went away after a week or two. I just had to be careful. I still get food cramps from time to time.

I think the Giants would be very smart to let Eli rest next week against Oakland. Maybe have him active, but dont' start him. Put him in if for some reason Oakland is winning..haha.. sorry, but had to say it.

I want him to play against the Saints...... period! The Giants can do what ever they like but come time to play the Saints they sure better tape his behind together....

Mostly painful in the morning or when NOT playing.

I've had it and if you stretch out and warm it up, you can play with it. But it is very painful in the morning when you wake up and take your first few steps. Feels like getting stabbed in the heel. Very painful and annoying.

The only way I beat it was to rest it, stretch it and insert heel pads/arch supports into my shoes.

It lingered for a long time but for months I tried to stretch and just run through it. It caused great pain for the first 10-15 minutes of a run, then would fade out dramatically. Next day would be excruciating again.

Rest and the heel pads eventually beat it.

I agree with you blackadder. I had it and used orthotic inserts for months. Now I am able to walk normally without them. It was when I broke my rib back in March that I had to use my Nike watershoes because it was too painful to bend and I could just slip into them. I noticed that my heels weren't hurting when I wore them and I haven't had to wear my orthotic inserts since then.

I get the feeling that they will rest Eli for the Oakland game if he's not 100%, but if he gets good shoes with the braces and supports built in, he might be alright come game time. All depends on the extent of his injury.
