Yeah neck injuries have ended many-a-career.. Sterling Sharpe and Michael Irvin comes to mind.

Just thank the Lord that he knows when to throw in the towel. Many people aren't as wise. He had a fine career. GJ Hobbs

It sure was a scary collision with him lying on the field for 11 minutes afterward. While it is tragic that this may end his career, he's still fortunate that it wasn't worse because from the looks of the way his neck got compressed, it could have been far worse.
