I can't believe Lions didn't try to get him back next year. He was on the money for a guy his age

I injured this guy for his career a few years ago in Madden.

Did he play his entire career in Detroit? If so, kudos to him for staying with the same team.

yes, all 21 years. Kind of like how Morten Andersen's career in New Orleans should've started & ended.

I have several of his 1992 Rookie Card (among other noteables). Good for him, great career even though he never got the 'big one'

wow... I was 7 years old when he came into the NFL... I turn 28 this month

talk about staying power... and all w/ 1 team

it's hard to stay in the NFL for 21 years at ANY position

He actually fell off these last few years. He was a stud while in his prime but the writing was on the wall.

Great career but not hall worthy. I would expect our own Great Dane to go in before Hanson does.

The least they could do is retire his number, but don't exactly see that happen. He's well deserving of it. 82% overall in FGs (495/601)

Cudos to his whole career being spent in Detoit. He got to play next to arguably the best running back all of time, and recently the what one day could be the greatest receiver of all time. I wasn't even born yet when he entered the league so that is huge wow lol.

Defiantly deserves to be in the Hall.

Great career but not hall worthy. I would expect our own Great Dane to go in before Hanson does.

Given the anti-kicker sentiment expressed by multiple HOF voters, I don't expect to see any more kickers get in, not even Morten, not even Ray Guy, who revolutionized the concept of the punter.

Sometimes I think it would be good for someone to establish a kickers' hall of fame. And if they did, Hanson would obviously belong.
