I didn't see this posted...

Just saw where Luke Kuechly was put into the league concussion protocol. The hit didn't look really that bad, but you could tell that he was concussed pretty badly. He looked really confused and scared and it was pretty tough to watch. I even thought I noticed his eyes crossing involuntarily when he was being carted off. I know he's a Panthers player, but I've got a ton of respect for the guy & I hope he comes out alright. That didn't look like your typical out a few days type concussion, though.

I did want to also say that I really enjoyed seeing our guys giving him some love as he was leaving the field. just goes to show how much they respect the guy and also shows that we've got some really classy guys playing on our team.

I felt really bad for him when he was sobbing and looked frightened. For a tough guy like him to get like that on national television, it had to be some serious ****. He's one of my favorite players in the league and I wish him the best.

It really looked like a glancing blow to me, but at game speed, it must be like getting shot while wearing a bullet proof vest. It won't kill you but it'll hurt like hell.

Dude's a legit great and I don't wish that on him, nor do I desire any jack*** nonsense like "too bad it didn't happen earlier maybe we would have scored more."

Don't forget Ingram. He looked to have been out cold for a few seconds and will also be placed in the concussion protocol.

I was going to say this as well.

Both concussions looked to be pretty severe. Ingram didn't need to be carted off but the way he went limp for a few seconds on the field leads one to believe he was out cold.

I honestly thought it would be a knee or something with Kuechly since he was crying so bad. Then when they said he was in concussion protocol during the game I remembered that he quite possibly missed a bunch of games last year or the year before because of concussions. He may be terrified that this one means it's going to take even longer than that one did to come back from. IDK - I hope they're both ok and ready to roll in short order.

His emotional state was a little confusing to watch .... I thought maybe he knew he broke something that was gonna end his season but it doesn't look like that was the case ....I'm not judging the dude, other than OBJ I haven't seen a player sobbing like that ..... a little confusing is all but I hope he's okay

Gut wrenching to see both Ingram and his injuries. God speed to both of their recoveries.

I am not saying this is what he has just found it interesting

Pseudobulbar affect (PBA), emotional lability, labile affect, or emotional incontinence is a type of affect characterized by involuntary crying or uncontrollable episodes of crying and/or laughing, or other emotional displays.[1] PBA occurs secondary to a neurologic disorder or brain injury. Patients may find themselves crying uncontrollably at something that is only moderately sad, being unable to stop themselves for several minutes. Episodes may also be mood-incongruent: a patient might laugh uncontrollably when angry or frustrated, for example. Sometimes, the episodes may switch between emotional states, resulting in the patient crying uncontrollably before dissolving into fits of laughter.
Traumatic brain injury[edit]
One study of 301 consecutive cases in a clinic setting reported a 5% prevalence. PBA occurred in patients with more severe head injury, and coincided with other neurological features suggestive of pseudobulbar palsy.[35]

The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) indicates that approximately 80% of survey respondents experience symptoms of PBA.[36] Results from a recent investigation estimate the prevalence of PBA associated with traumatic brain injury to exceed more than 55% of survivors

No matter what happened prayers to him and I hope he gets well. I may not like the Panthers but I don't want to see any one getting hurt.

When the cart came out for Luke, my initial thought was that it was his leg or knee.

MI is soldier and was visibly upset he could not return. Both of these young guys will be back stronger than ever in a week or so. Heal up !

I thought he had a sternum injury and when they came back and he was hypervenilating, i was like oh snap.

Then after a few seconds u could tell he was sobbing.

but i really truly thought it was a chest injury because Hightower put the crown of his helmet square in his chest plate.

The hit that resulted in Kuechly's concussion last year didn't all that spectacular either. It occurred week one vs. the Jags and he had to sit 3-4 games. The one last night looked even less threatening. I'd be extremely worried if I were in his or his family's shoes.

Yea I thought he got the wind knocked out of him and just couldn't breathe for a minute and freaked him out. That or he had numbness in his legs or something and thought his career was over. His reaction made it seem worse than a concussion.

Kuechly may not have caused the concussion on the hit we saw, but was an accumulation from another hit. He was sure dazed on the back of that cart.

.

If you look closely, his teammate hits him in the back of the helmet after he got hit in the front by Hightower.

I think it's the Bam Bam of opposite forces that did the trick!
