NFL asks Nevada court to dismiss Gruden lawsuit

The NFL on Wednesday filed a motion to dismiss Jon Gruden's lawsuit against the league, calling the accusations that his emails were leaked "baseless" and saying the suit should be dismissed "for failure to state a single viable cause of action."

I doubt it. If the court rule against the NFL, they'll just appeal it. The NFL's pockets are just too deep to let the case get anywhere near discovery.

Yeah, and if it seems like it will get close to discovery, you know they'll make a nice settlement offer to Gruden before that happens.

Every defendant asks for a dismissal in the beginning, it's just how the game is played from my understanding.

Especially when the plaintiff doesn't state claims that are actually real claims in law. For example, in this case.
