N/S - Norv Turner, Vikings OC resigns (1 Viewer)

I think you and the poster above are spot on about the insistence on a certain scheme but without the personnel to pull it off. Can't continue to call deep shots where the QB holds the ball for 4-5 secs while the route develops only to get crushed. Chances are they would have lost bradford at some point in this season if they didn't make the move.

If the o-coordinator doesn't want to adjust well then you have to remove him and go in the direction of someone with a different philosophy which is what looks to have happened.

Ah, so your angle is that he was asked to resign rather than upon his own volition. Could be.

I'm sure we'll find out at some point.

Interesting tidbit right here. Not sure of the veracity, but it certainly sounds like it could be from Turner's statement.

He was either forced out or didn't like the direction of the team.

If Shurmur was indeed calling the plays until after the bye, that explains everything.

Cam Cameron was fired right before the Ravens won the SB in 2012.

Weren't the Ravens a so-so team for a good portion of that season, and then got hot in the final month or so, which carried over into the playoffs?

Reading up on Ed Werder's tweets, and it sounds like Zimmer and Norv Turner had different opinions of what needed to be fixed on offense and where it was going.

I don't think I've ever seen a team go from (seemingly) legitimate contender to dumpster fire as quickly as the 2016 Vikings have.
