N/S (or not?) - Josh Gordon looking to sign with new team after being released off IR (1 Viewer)

To be fair, with the Pats, Brady didn't target him much for whatever reason. But when he was targeted, he usually made the most of it.
Yeah, I wasn't intending to shoot the guy down. I was genuinely surprised by his stats. And the Pats don't have a lot of talented WRs after Edelman. At the end of the day, he still does have the cloud of substance abuse concerns over him. Those years off may have made him a mere mortal. I dunno.

As long as there isn't a suspension coming, I'm in.

It's pretty risky. Bringing in a guy with a known substance abuse issue to the Big Easy.....If we do it then we have to cover ourselves.

22mph isn’t slow.

Pats probably released him because of his history of injuries.
Take a chance

The Pats know something. I'd be willing to bet they knew something before trading for Sanu.

Antonio Brown anyone? Just kidding..... kinda....maybe?

Remember, for those who opposes taking a chance on Gordon, we’re not asking him to be a #1 like he would be in NE. He’d be a perfect #2 who can definitely run the whole route tree

Also, although BB is still a better overall head coach, I still believe Payton beats him in offense

I just looked at his career stats, and he had one monster year back in 2013. I know he had the substance abuse issues, but he really didn't do much other than a solid rookie season. And with the Pats and the mighty Tom Brady, he was pedestrian. I wouldn't be too eager to go in that direction. He has 20 career TDs and that is with 9 in 2013.

So In 17 Games with the Patriots basically one season he has 60 Catches-1,007 yards 4TDS 16.8 yds a catch .? I’ll take that we haven’t had that type of Production from our #2 since 2016 when Cook was here....

Only knock I have on Gordon is his catch rate consistently been around 55-58% if we can get that to 65-68% which I think we can, he would be better with Brees than CLE and Patriots

They called him Flash Gordon for a reason and I believe he has matured

If the Pats are moving on then there is a lot more to the story then is being reported. They don't shy away from a player because of a minor injury.

Agree 100%. If the best coach in the league is dumping Gordon, we should stay away like the plague. No, No and No!

If they waive him after the trade deadline, then he is subject to waivers. We would never get him

Hey Boutte, just in case you need verification.

With all the recent WR talk, there is absolutely no reason you don't take a chance like this! People are still looking for Dez to fall into the 2nd position. I think the upside of Gordon would be much better.

If there is no league suspension looming and if he is truly healthy I say go for it - We have a strong locker room and a QB and coach who will know how to utilize him and IMO he upgrades our receiving corps significantly - again if he is clean and healthy!
