The first NFC title game I ever watched was in January 1991. It was the Giants and the 49ers, from Candlestick Park. Since I was so fresh to watching football, there are only 3 things I remember from that game: (1) Joe Montana getting knocked out of the game. (2) Matt Bahr kicking the game-winning FG, and (3) Pat Summerall (probably didn't know him by name at that point) saying at the end of the game: "there will be no 3-peat".
What a great announcer! When he was out a few games, I forget the reason, and they put Verne Lundquist in the booth with Madden, it was a disaster. Madden would ramble on and on, and Verne would try to cut through the verbiage to explain what was happening in the game, but failed miserably to slow the coach down. That was when I realized how good Summerall was. He was the guy who could make John Madden intelligible.
