N/S Patrick Mahomes Gets A 10 Year Contract Extension (12 years total!) Worth Half Of A BILLION Dollars (503 Million) (1 Viewer)

It’s gotta be 400 million at least. That’s $40 million a year, which is what Dak friggin Prescott was asking for. And in 10 years, $40 million a year for an elite QB will be pocket change.

Are there any credible sources saying Dak wanted 40mil/yr? Everything I've heard is they agreed on money but Dak wanted a 4 year deal and the Cowboys wanted a 5 year deal.

There's not even a benefit for that most likely. Unless the updated CBA replaced the language, teams can only spread out a bonus over a max of 5 years.

The real questions from Mahomes' side of the deal will be is there a percentage of the salary cap tied to the deal (with a minimum number), and what are the opt-out options (if any).

Could they spread the bonus out over the last five years of the contract or does it have to start at the beginning?

HOw much more money can the NFL make... I think NFL is about to reach the ceiling on their yearly revenue without inflation variables.

Wow, amazing talent and worth huge money, but with that kind of salary Im afraid he may need to learn to block for himself and get better at throwing to himself. It may be tough to keep him surrounded with talent

Congratulations to him though, this is the kind of deal that changes your family for generations.

Bad contract for Mahomes unless they renegotiate after 5 years. Two or three years from now, the top 10 QBs in the NFL will average $40mil a year.
