Patriots' arrogance on full display with Tim Tebow signing - CBSSports

I think it is safe to assume that as a group, the posters on this board and the Who Dat Nation in general despises Pete Prisco as a football writer.

He is a massive Atlanta Falcons homer. Because of that, he has a huge bias against the Saints.

His columns are some of the worst thought out in the whole national press. His way of grading every little thing is just dumb.

This is the worst I have ever read. Do I think Tebow is an NFL caliber player? No. But, did Bellicek sign him because the Pats are overly arrogant? Because Urban Meyer is a friend.

Earth to Prisco...The Patriots in the Bellicek regime have won 3 Super Bowls. They have been to 2 others. They have dominated the AFC East since 2002. They have been relevant as a championship contender longer than the 70s Steelers were. They are approaching the 80s-90s 49ers in terms of longevity as a contender. This is a regime that knows what it is doing.

You do not get to that level of success by signing players out of arrogance or out of favors to a friend.

Were they right to sign Tebow? I doubt it, but if Bellicek thinks he can get something out of him or he thinks that he can add to their locker room, then more power to him. How many times have the Patriots taken a guy whom the rest of the league thought was trash and made him something?

So, Pete Prisco, just shut up.

Tebow hasn't made the team yet. Don't worry Pete.

( Also: Suddenness Alert!! Payton used the term "suddenness" to describe his RB. You don't really hear that term used a lot in the media. Watch how it gets used more often. Kind of like the word " obviously". Sure people use it. But Brees said it all the time. Now it's all over the NFL. "Ebb and Flow" made it's rounds also.)

Why can't Prisco state his opinion? This entire board is totally made up of posters stating their opinions.

There are probably a lot people that agree with Prisco.

Yes, you're correct...Prisco strikes again. He wrote some more drivel...someone read it...someone got offended/amused...someone linked to his article...his hit count rises...Prisco and his bosses think he's popular, he's doing a great job, his readership base is widening...and the cycle continues.

In all honesty, WHO CARES what Prisco thinks, let alone writes? He has no insight to my Saints, has no effect on how my Saints season will go, and really adds nothing to my fan experience? If anything, he's a contrarian buffoon who only DETRACTS from my experience. I feel myself getting stupider as I read his thoughts...

In order to maintain your intellect at the highest potential level, may I suggest that we all refrain from spreading the gospel of Prisco? To paraphase an infamous Saints' colloquialism, "Starve the talking head..."

You have a good point. Prisco can state his opinion. I don't understand why people get so offended at his opinion that they feel the need to LINK to his opinion, thereby perpetuating the cycle.

This board is indeed totally made up of posters stating their opinions. However, as Saints fans, they are usually correct! There probably ARE a lot of people that agree with Prisco. Unfortunately, they ALL truly believe the Falcons are going to win the Superbowl this year. Therefore, they have NO credibility whatsoever! ;-)

I'm not saying the hoodie isn't a great coach, but I don't think he is "infallible" like some people.
Sure they have reigned over the afc east for 10 years now, but who has their competition been? bills, jets and dolphins? i think over the last 10 years, those 3 teams have collectively had 7 winning seasons.

without taking too much away from his legacy, i just think that the hoodie is capable of making a mistake, and this tebow thing is a mistake. If tebow had gone to ANY OTHER TEAM, every single person would be laughing at that team, lauding them for making such a stupid move. Now that Belichick took him in, all of a sudden it is a cunning, bold move and Tebow is magically a better player.

Tim Tebow IS an NFL caliber player. He's just not a good QB, but he is versatile, great leader, and a baller.

BB is one of the all time greats, and you cant take that away from him...but you are right. The competition in the AFC has been subpar to say the least. Look at SB champs from the last 10 plus years. Colts, Patriots, and Steelers. We just now got a new entry with the Ravens, but still its the same teams every year over there. Colts (or Broncos now), Steelers, Ravens, Patriots, throw in a team like the Texans, Jets, Chargers or Bengals every now and then. The NFC is much more competitive. You never know who will be in the mix year after year. Saints, GB, Lions, Vikings, Bears, Giants, Skins, Cowgirls, Eagles, 9ers, Seahawks Rams, Bucs, Falcons, all have legit shots at making the playoffs next year. It wouldnt even be a shock if the Cardinals or Panthers made it in there. Its always a dog fight in the NFC. In the AFC, you have a handful of great consistent teams, and bunch of crap teams. In the NFC you have a handful of great teams, and a bunch of pretty good teams and a very small few amount of bad teams if any.
