Mexicans (country) are a race, Chinese (country) are a race, Africans (continent) are a race, so by the same definition, America, or more accurately, United States, is a race.

Are you being serious or trolling...mexicans are from the "nation or country" mexico and they are hispanic or latino...likewise Chinese are people from China the "country or nation" and they are Asian

Hispanic or Latino: A person of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture or origin, regardless of race. The term, "Spanish origin", can be used in addition to "Hispanic or Latino".

Asian: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, or the Indian subcontinent including, for example, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippine Islands, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The last 3 are not like the first one.

Redskin =/= Yankee.
Being less obviously offensive doesnt make it non-offensive...isnt that your point. Just because it doesnt seem offensive to some it is still offensive.

Incorrect.

The old system of separating by race - Mongoloid, Negroid, Caucasoid - was initially established to distinguish for reasons of superiority. It was never really genetically scientifically correct, even though it was treated as such.

We've known, pretty definitively, since the Human Genome Project that genetic race isn't really a thing. The superficial markers that determine 'race' are quite minor, genetically.

A white guy in the US heartland can have more DNA in common with a sub Saharan black person or a Tibetan monk than his white neighbor.

We gotta get past this.

According to a story from CBS sports, Warriors has emerged as the early front-runner for the new Washington nickname.

you mean there's only one human race? no, you don't say...(i agree by the way)

the offical definition has been changed over the last 20 years to ensure that divisions are kept in place, particularly if there's a poltical agenda...

culture, IMO is the true division of the human species, and people gravitate to some cultures and dislike others, some for valid reasons, so not, so must "racism" today is more a rejection of culture that person group subscribes to by someone, physical appearance in and off itself is pretty rare.

race

NOUN
race (noun) · races (plural noun)
  1. each of the major groupings into which humankind is considered (in various theories or contexts) to be divided on the basis of physical characteristics or shared ancestry.

"we Scots were a bloodthirsty race then"
      synonyms:
      people · nation
    • a group or set of people or things with a common feature or features.

oh and FYI, Portland has a hocky team named the Portland Winterhawks, very similar logo to the Redskins, and there is no push to make them change, thats pretty hypocritical to me.

It's the pretty much the same logo as the Blackhawks which also has minimal backlash because they have gone out of their way to include Native Americans

The team's logo, largely unchanged since 1959-60, is of a large Native American head with feather headdress and face paint.
"We recognize there is a fine line between respect and disrespect, and we commend other teams for their willingness to engage in that conversation," the team said. "Moving forward, we are committed to raising the bar even higher to expand awareness of Black Hawk and the important contributions of all Native American people."
The Chicago Blackhawks Foundation had previously partnered with the American Indian Center of Chicago (AIC) to educate the public about American Indians, but the AIC ended that agreement in 2019, citing the perpetuation of "harmful stereotypes."

The problem in Washington is the name. Ya know it being a racial slur and all.

Race, ethnicity, and nationality are 3 separate things. They are not synonymous.

Winterhawks logo is the same as the Chicago Blackhawks... that logo honors Native American culture... where the Redskins logo has/had a different look and connotation.

Who gives a shxt man? It's becoming truly ridiculous. The NFL is bowing to the mob just like the rest of the country, although 90% of Native-Americans have zero issue with the Washington Redskins. "In a land of freedom, we are held hostage by the tyranny of political correctness." Robert Griffin III (RG3) (African-American, former Washington Redskins QB) !!! I think his words say plenty.

Where did you get this 90% number? How many actual Native-Americans did you ask?
