N/S: Seahawks Sign CJ Spiller (1 Viewer)

Saints Report Response: He didn't fit the system. Cadet turned out to be better. He was released for a reason. He's average at best.

Realist Response:I welcome the 100+ yards he's going to drop on us in the first half.

heh, to be fair it's only because he's playing against one of the worst defenses of all time.

Saints the only team that keep injured players until their healthy then release them with money still on the book and say he didn't fit the system lol

I JUST DON'T GET IT AT ALL

Spiller is an insurance policy for Seattle that likely will never see the field.

I said the same about Browner and Evans and they never made the final 53.

I remember it a little differently. I remember you touting that Browner would contribute and that Evans could be a stabilizing force and start.

Nah ya didn't lol

"At this point, Browner may make the final cut and contribute.
And Evans could well be a starter and stabilizing force (much like Unger)."

nah. Rawls is gonna be on the shelf for awhile.

Spiller is not a replacement for Thomas Rawls. Christine Michael is the man right now, and they have Alex Collins as his backup.

What they currently are lacking is a pass catching specialist in the backfield, which was going to be CJ Prosise, but he broke his hand. He's still a few weeks away from being able to play without a cast, so enter Spiller.

Spiller, who signed with the Seahawks on Wednesday, will be used in a third-down passing role, the Seattle Times reports.
C.J. Prosise was supposed to fill that role, but he's playing with a broken bone in his wrist that is expected to take six weeks to heal. Thomas Rawls will be out a few more weeks with a hairline fracture in his shin, leaving Christine Michael as the starter. Rookie Alex Collins is more of a between-the-tackles runner, so he'll back up Michael with Spiller then the pass-catcher out of the backfield.

Spiller

I heard that he got picked up by Seattle, I don't get it we kept him all preseason I heard some reporters saying that they thought from the preseason games that he was going to have a better year than Ingram. I guess we will never know.

makes that date with Seattle more interesting. pretty sure he can give the Seattle defense some of the plays if he can remember them.

He is not going to replace Rawls or Michael...they picked him up because they don't have a reliable healthy 3rd down back...although can he block?

Seattle has had great luck with ex-Buffalo running backs so who knows...

Jesus man.

Yeah I'm aware Spiller isn't a replacement for Rawls. But Rawls and Procise are both out, and the other guy after Michael is a rookie. Spiller is gonna get snaps. I don't need you to explain it to me.
