N/S Thomas Dimitroff Begs Gonzalez to Stay (1 Viewer)

I frankly don't have strong feelings about this. Tony or no Tony, the Saints have owned the Falcons for some time now. As much as they would say they exercised that demon last season, we all know as well as them they split games with a team severely crippled by the NFL, and won a home game against the Saints on a very short week, after the Saints playing a brutal game.

This is all going to depend where Tony's heart and mind is. If he truly wants to win a championship, or even reach the championship game, there are a few things that have to be in the back of his mind: this was the best shot at reaching the championship game he, and the Falcons for that matter, ever had. It was served on a platter to them: the easy schedule, the crippled division rival, the home field advantage throughout the playoffs, the NFCCG played at home. Next year, he's a year older, the Saints are coming back full force, there are now 2 new, young up-and-coming contenders in the NFC, and the Falcons almost lost to one of them at home in the playoffs, the other beat them in the NCFGC in Atlanta.

I'd say to Dimitroff, if he's really thinking strictly football, just be careful what you wish for. He may convince Tony to come back one more year, but he needs to be absolutely sure that Tony's heart is in playing one more year. If Tony comes back out of loyalty and his heart is not in playing the game anymore, a player of Tony's presence, it would be rough for Atlanta.
