N/S Tom Brady NFL MVP (duhh) (1 Viewer)

cue unexplained tom brady hatred in 3....2....1....

Let em. I'll just sponsor a junket from the Pats board down here to straighten things out.:hihi:

Good for him. Who came in second in the balloting?

Brady also was tops with a 68.9 completion percentage, and his 4,806 yards were 383 more than runner-up Drew Brees of New Orleans.

Brees rebounded to have an outstanding season. The Saints are about as set as it gets at QB.

BTW: Brady received 49 of 50 votes. Being a runner-up is still quite an honor. heh

Brady is great and he looks even better when you see him play in person.
People used to be critical of his production when he had no real receiving threats. Now many say his production is because of his receivers. IMO you can't have it both ways. He simply does not wilt under pressure, he seems to thrive on it. Winning a SB this year will seal the deal. And this year may not be the last. Who knows how many he can win in NE before he's done. It helps that great players want to play there and let's face it Tom Brady is as big a factor in that desire as Belichick. IMO anyway.
MVP: well deserved.

I agree with most of what you say.....but

1. He has ALWAYS had one of the best defenses to rely on
2. He has had Superbowl MVP receivers on his team
3. He has had some of the best protection in the NFL....period
4. He had a great running game to rely on
5. He had great special teams with the return game and Mr. Clutch kicking

Not taking anything away from him but it is DEFINATELY a team sport. He is definately a one of the best but some of that has to do with the coaches and front office consistently giving him one of the best complete teams in NFL history.

So which QBs do you feel are better than Brady? QBs don't rely on their Ds.Their job is to score. See the stats of Brees. Brady often scores before the Pats D has even taken the field. Branch was the SB MVP, yet the Pats let him seek his fortune in Seattle. Patten and Troy Brown haven't been mentioned among the greats, either. What does special teams have to do with anything? I have also pointed out that the top ten QBs usually have good rushing attacks and OL. Each compliments the other. Maroney would be in trouble without Brady. The Pats pass to set up the run.

I know he has one of the best offensive lines in the NFL but watch him when he is pressured. The guy stands in the pocket until the last second before throwing the ball. He has ice in his veins. Nothing can rattle this guy. That is what makes a great QB. Montana was the same. Brady is as good if not better. Brady didn't always have the best receivers either. He does have a great defense but put David Carr on that team and they go no where. Brady already has a bust in Canton.
