Not a big surprise, but the Taysom Hill wrinkle worked.

I'm not a fan of taking the ball out of Drew Brees' hand (like Aikman said), but it got you 7 points.

This next drive shows if Kirk wants to elevate his game or if the moment is too big.

I thought the Vikings were about 10 points better physically than the Saints were in the first quarter.

Mistakes and bad calls made it even.

Wonder if they needed to work in a TV timeout?
Vikings eating clock with long drives trying to dominate time of possession.

Fortunate to benefit from a rare FG miss by Lutz.

Sure appears the Vikings game plan was to shorten the game and they've been doing well to do so.
Time of possession is 11 minutes to 19 minutes. Saints get the ball at half.

Dalvin Cook and our ability to get those outside runs has been my biggest surprise.
Vikings really just trying to keep Kirk in game manager role and thus far it's worked.

Saints getting a lead to make Vikings play from behind would be the turning point second half.
Vikings will try to kill the clock and end the game as quickly as possible.

Feels like the Vikings should be winning by more by how they are controlling clock, but the Theilen fumble was big.
The Brees pick appeared to be like a bad punt.

The weirdest thing is your FG kicker missing a FG is the first time in a long time Minnesota has had kicker luck in the playoffs.

I was 20% confident of a Vikings win.
At this point I'm probably in the 40% neighborhood.
If Vikings can stop Saints on first drive, that will help my confidence.

Should be another memorable second half.

Zimmer changing things up defensively on that third down. I hadn't seen that all year moving Griffen inside.

I'm a little surprised by our pass rush so far being this effective early.

This is why I did not expect any blowout. Zimmer is a smart coach and there’s nobody that’s gonna embarrass his defense totally.

The Vikings problem is the as it has been for 9 seasons.

It's the quarterback.

As long as they have a QB that doesn't lose games, they are a playoff team. If they had QB that could shoulder some load, they'd be champions.
