30 LSU players in QT just recently and they are one of the most advanced and cautious teams in sports medicine and protocol.

Then, you have teams like UT, Bama, Clemson, and etc.

I know NFL is gonna wait till the last second to make any decisions, but what is a team going to do if 30 players are on QT at the start of the season. Do they just forfeit the game?

I was going to post a thread what do you think the 2020 NFL season is going to be like? , but decided to post a thread about an excellent article I saw earlier about Cook and Jackrabbit.

I think the 2020 season will go on as planned but with no practices. This might lead to some sloppy NFL games. However I think this will work in the Saints favor since this is a highly skilled, well jelled cohesive unit. The few newcomers and rookies on this team should be quickly brought up to speed with the help of N.Os veteran leadership.

I anticipate only one or two short preseason games where they play two qaurters only. Little to no practices for rookies

If Covid remains on it current trajectory it wouldn't be surprising to see a 60 person roster with expanded practice squad personnel who will be on standby.

the country shut down (weeks later than it should have) when the NBA shut down

we are having huge spikes in places that had been relatively quiet in the first pass, but 'leaders' are saying they are not going to 'close the country' again
the only way i see to prevent an additional 100k deaths is for the NFL to shut down sooner rather than later
i'm almost certain they'll do whatever they can to at least open training camps, but i doubt it stays operating much after the first few cases pop off in TC

IMO, bye-bye 2020, and LUCKY if 21 happens... there's no possible way you can play contact sports AND practice social distancing without a vaccine or a medication that's a proven cure for those who become infected.. I mean really, think about it, sweat, spit, body contact, are you kidding ??.. smh.. check them Florida numbers for further proof..

And don't get me wrong, i'm craving watching the Saints as much as everyone else here.. but there's no way you can not only put kids in harms way, but the future of the NFL as well.. I know there's huge dollars involved, but again, shut it down til' it's safe.. PROTECT THE FUTURE!

So when will they get serious? The nflpa just advised players not to work out together, and camp guidelines keep getting revised.

As sad as I am to say it I agree. The country should've shut down sooner and the restrictions should've been taken seriously. We will be lucky to have a season unless they implement the type of plan that the NBA is planning. Keep the players/personnel isolated and constantly tested.

they will kick the can down the road and make an announcement 2 weeks later that what should have been the last possible day to make an announcement

So are they trying to fleece season ticket holders? The longer they wait the more they put next season in doubt. This is either some PR scheme or idealistic political thinking because no health expert is predicting a vaccine any time soon.

maybe it's just 32 rich people waiting to the last possible moment to put their cash cow into hibernation
and their last possible moment is much later than the rest of our's

So how long do you think they can play "Santa Claus" with the fans, mid-July?

I honestly can't see a season for either sport, especially if the health of the players is actually any kind of concern. It's ridiculously hypocritical to play. I understand we all want it and that includes the players, but a virus doesn't really give a **** whether or not we feel this is a legitimate issue. If you want someone to blame, then blame the people worried about the economy and behaving like children when asked to wear mask. We could have been past all of this a month ago. Instead, the virus is actually spreading.

I saw the patriots put this out. Yeah right...Like they're really going to let all of the fans in.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots are offering season-ticket holders at an elevated risk of COVID-19 infection the chance to skip the 2020 season entirely and still hold on to their seats for the next year.

We won’t know what/when the actual trigger will be
Aaron Rodgers getting it? 12 Seahawks getting it?
But once the trigger happens there will be a solid day of fan/pundit frothing, 2 days of NFL dithering with a stated resolve to clean or have stricter distancing guidelines or different helmets. But the drumbeat will have begun and backroom player zooms will force the league to cancel
