30 LSU players in QT just recently and they are one of the most advanced and cautious teams in sports medicine and protocol.

Then, you have teams like UT, Bama, Clemson, and etc.

I know NFL is gonna wait till the last second to make any decisions, but what is a team going to do if 30 players are on QT at the start of the season. Do they just forfeit the game?

Well I guess we should just tell everyone see ya next year. The world has got to move on. This is a virus that will most likely always be here. What good is a vaccine if 100% don’t take it? Look at the percentage of people that take a flu vaccine each year. You can’t force a vaccine on people by law. If your in the high risk group, don’t go. If not, wear a mask or not, but go. We can’t all hold our heads under blankets and ask someone to tell us when the boogeyman goes away.

The NFL’s first concern has to be the players and team staff. Most of them are under contract and won’t have the choice to decide not to go. I think for fans in attendance, they will defer to local law/rules. But if the league doesn’t think they can conduct a season without jeopardizing the health and safety of those players and staff, they’re not going to do it.

Now this...
I always try to be an optimist but there's no way we can have a normal football season. Goodell needs to get his head out of his butt and make a decision. It's not fair to the players, staff and most importantly the fans, who are spending their hard earned money and waiting for something that probably won't happen.

You actually trust the league to put safety before profit? It's not like owners will be at risk.

So when will they get serious? The nflpa just advised players not to work out together, and camp guidelines keep getting revised.
I guess the difference between the NFL and NCAA. NFLPA give them rights to refuse to play.

NCAA not so much. Blue collar ideals are too ingrained.

For this to remotely work... I'd say the schedule is gonna have to one week minimal byes inbetween every game. 14 days in between games.

Good point. I guess I find it baffling that they keep doing this cloak and dagger thing with planning when every other major institution (schools, governments, companies, etc.) is engaged in serious discussions on how to return.

We also can't ignore obvious health issues, so yeah. Let's go your route and just end all sports completely. Why be responsible and take measured steps when we can follow ignorant, knee-jerk reactions?

That line of thinking is why we have laws for seatbelts and warnings to not orally injest Preparation H.

IMO, bye-bye 2020, and LUCKY if 21 happens... there's no possible way you can play contact sports AND practice social distancing without a vaccine or a medication that's a proven cure for those who become infected.. I mean really, think about it, sweat, spit, body contact, are you kidding ??.. smh.. check them Florida numbers for further proof..

And don't get me wrong, i'm craving watching the Saints as much as everyone else here.. but there's no way you can not only put kids in harms way, but the future of the NFL as well.. I know there's huge dollars involved, but again, shut it down til' it's safe.. PROTECT THE FUTURE!

NW.
Add to the issues that the disease has mutated and now they need to come up with several vaccines.

No way do we have football this year, college, pro, high school, you name it.

The chance of spreading the virus back home to player’s families, along with spreading it to coaches that are in the high risk realm, the season will be done before it even starts.

My prediction is, the season will be cancelled, after the first pre-season game, when so many teams will have players in quarantine.

Wearing a mask does not prevent ANYONE from getting the virus. High risk group, or not. It helps prevent the spread of the virus.

Wrong, wearing any style of mask significantly cuts down your risk of exposure. Does it make the chances zero? No, but it does help.

So what will the 14 days between games do? There will be travel to away games. Players and coaches will need to be getting on planes...etc. It does no good. It is a waste. So everyone gets on a plane, on Friday to travel, while waiting for test results. Sunday comes, and there is too many players showing up positive. Now what? You have players/coaches infected in another city, waiting to get home, or do you just put them on the same plane with the players and coaches that did not test positive? What are we doing here?

it is ridiculous, to try and have this upcoming season. It is going to be such a mess, it will be a black eye on the NFL. Do the right thing, NOW! Lead by example and quit while you are ahead as a large business.

Wrong, it does not SIGNIFICANTLY reduce your risk.

“At this time, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not approved any type of surgical mask specifically for protection against the coronavirus, but these masks may provide SOME protection“

It helps, as long as people follow the other guidelines, of washing hands, not touching your face (mouth, nose, eyes). Simply by wearing a mask, does not SIGNIFICANTLY reduce your risk.

Nice try buddy.

If this whole thing was predicated on NO ONE involved testing positive, then it was doomed from the start. Even the NBA's bubble likely won't stand.
