I don't know what my state's tourism slogan is, but it has to be better that that
=================================================================================

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska’s no longer nice, at least in its next tourism campaign. The new sales pitch has a decidedly self-deprecating bent: “Nebraska. Honestly, it’s not for everyone.”

The slogan, which the Nebraska Tourism Commission unveiled Wednesday at a Nebraska City conference, will replace the current “Through My Eyes” campaign this spring, commission marketing manager Jenn Gjerde said Thursday.

State tourism director John Ricks told the Omaha World-Herald that because Nebraska consistently ranks as the least likely state tourists plan to visit, the marketing campaign needed to be different...………..

right before my senior year in HS, i had to go to Provo, Utah to help drive my aunt & uncle to Ithaca, NY (me, my 13 yr old sister, aunt, uncle and their 6 month old baby in a Ford Grenada - one of the suckiest things ever)
of course that took us through the length of Nebraska

years later my friend asked if i would help him drive from NYC to LA - the one condition i had is that we would go nowhere near Nebraska (if you could weaponize the boredom of Nebraska there would be no need for bombs)

and it wound up being a great trip since we took a northerly route - we got to go through Badlands & Black Hills which was incredible

Nebraska used to be in my sales territory. I had to fly to Omaha and drive to Lincoln once. I nearly drove off the road from the boredom. At least the Expedition rental I was given was comfortable.

+1 for ‘weaponizing boredom’.

I lived in Omaha for 7 years. Best zoo I have ever been to, downtown area along the river had good bars and restaurants, college world series was fun every year, casinos right across the river, Halloween corn mazes, drive-in movie theaters, low crime, low cost of living...it was honestly way better than I thought it would be before I got there. If the right job came along, I wouldn't have a problem going back.

Agree, badlands and black hills are cool. Nebraska and Iowa are not.

The drive east to west across South Dakota to get to the Badlands is mind numbing. It’s hell, and it seems like it will never end. But part of that is because of the interstate.

There are parts of both Nebraska and Iowa that I enjoy, not as cool as Badlands, but still. If you get off the interstate and wander through the small towns, it can be fun.

I've found their new new slogan:
"Nebraska...see? This guy likes it"

Nebraska has its good and bad. Since I actually live there I'll explain.

Good- we are higher than sea level
Bad- it snowed on October 14th
Good-No hurricanes
Bad- IT SNOWED ON OCTOBER 14TH!!!
Good-cost of living is cheap
Bad-the cost of flying from the middle of no where is expensive
Good-Fresh COW
Bad-not so fresh sea food
Good-CWS in Omaha
Bad - Nearest NFL facility is 3.5 hours away
Good - No Atlanta fans
Bad- I'm probably one of only two saints fans that live here
Good- crime is low
Bad- I'm a major suspect when crime happens...lol
Good - Summer
Bad- Winter

No matter where you live you have to take the good with the bad.
And that slogan ....... That's BAD!

If I had a chance to do the slogan it would be this

NEBRASKA.......It Snows on October 14th!

That was awesome. As one who’s never been there I appreciated it.
And your bad (Snow on October 14th) would be a good for me. And the rest sounds good. ?

Is it flat terrain or mountainous?
