I saved a word 07 file at school and emailed it to myself and now I am trying to open it in word 02 at home It says I need a converter to open the the file, It says to install the converter, then it identified it as office with front page, I had a lite (or student) vgersion, I dont have front page, will I be able to open it on my computer?

They aren't compatible. The new file saves as .docx and can't be opened by '02. You need to send it to someone who has '07 and have them open it and then "save as" and select Word '97-'03.

It's the only way.

There's a converter on the MS Office site. It's a humongous download, though.

I downloaded it on my fiance's laptop, saved it as an older file, and emailed to myself, now I am editing it and I have to turn it in in 30 min...
