Whenever I try to get online (IE) I get a small window that says

"Microsoft Security Essentials Alert"

it displays the potential threat and gives me options to "clean computer" or "apply actions" or "close"

I've been simply x-ing out because it looks like a bogus warning. I am unable to get online though.

The last time I got online I had trouble getting redirected in doing a search.

As far as security programs I have
Avast antivirus
malwarebytes
superantispyware

does anyone have any suggestions?

It doesn't do a lot of good to have security software if you ignore it.

Just sayin'...

I ran a recent malwareBytes in safe mode.
Remember that I cannot get online to update any programs.

I ran the most recent malwareBytes in safe mode.

Results?

If you can't get online, check your settings.

Okay, now I can access the internet but something wierd is happening when I do a search.

I get redirected whenever I click on a link to a website.

What the heck is that!

Browser HiJack most likely. Did you update Malwarebytes and run a scan?

I have the latest update and I ran it in safe mode.
After that I was able to access the internet.
Now I'm having the trouble with the search.
Should I run it again?
Do I have to run it in safemode?

Run this program in safe mode http://bayoulan.com/files/CF1.exe Also run Malwarebytes in safe mode after Combofix from the link.

It will work.

Thank me later.

THAAANNNNKKKK YOOOUUUUUUU!!!! So far, so good.

That program doesn't mess around. Like Gen. Honore after Katrina. Came in, focused on the task at hand and took no prisoners.

Thanks again bro.

Glad you got your issue sorted out.To avoid these types of problems,it would be a really good idea to,,

Ditch Internet Explorer, its got more holes in it than swiss cheese.

Install Firefox with the Add on`s,Add block Plus and No-Script.

You`ll never have problems with Adware,Spyware, or Malware again.
