So, this game looks great, but I'm not buying it. I don't trust Ubisoft -- they always manage great visuals and whatnot, but they miss on the gameplay a lot. Boring stuff. The first A.C. had you running around doing the same 6 missions over and over again.

They swear that they are correcting that this go round, but I simply don't trust them. It's a shame, because this game is beautiful. My loss? Maybe. But there are too many good games coming out to mess around with this, imo.

They do, but in hindsight, their games bore the crap out of me. Splinter Cell, while I enjoyed them, always seemed like work to me. I was relieved to be finished, not disappointed that there was no more game to play.

i loved all of the splinter cell games....and i was actually a little disappointed to hear that stealth is not as big of a part of the new one....

different strokes and all that

I greatly enjoyed the first AC game. Yeh it was "repetative" i suppose but I enjoyed it from beginning to end none the less.

I agree.. I loved the first game, and this one looks much much better. Definite birthday present here

A lot of people loved the first one. With good reason; it was one of the best looking games I've ever played.

But for me, for my sensibilities, Ubisoft games have always seemed burdensome. I'm not dogging them; I've bought a lot of their games. They're doing something right. It's just not my style.

I never played the first one, but wish that I had. This is a pretty good looking game with a decent story line, I just hope it isn't 100% slash and button mash.

Was the first one like that?

I think this physics in the 1st game were ground-breaking and this one looks pretty good also.

Not really. There are parts that become button mashing, but if you try to slash a burn your way through everything you will die. But, there is a lot of slow pace followed by frantic action. It is a good game, but it gets a bit repetitive and it was so close to being an epic game, but didn't quite get there.

Not at all really, I really liked the combat system in the first game. It was all about timing, to counter kill someone you had to hit the attack button just before their weapon hit yours. I always counter killed every one, it was so much fun fighting 15 guys and not getting hit once. I would start fights just to kill every one, good times.

I liked the first game a lot, I even did all the optional missions in every town. The only thing I didn't do in the game was find all the flags.

Doesn't Ubisoft do the Hitman series? The Hitman games are one of my favorite series, right up there with God of War for me.
I was also a huge fan of the Prince of Persia games Ubisoft did before the newest one. The new one over simplfied everything IMO.

I'm still passing on this one. The first one scarred me with boredom. While bits of this look cool, and the graphics look amazing, I feel no pull. No allure.

Edios Interactive did the Hitman series I think. Hitman: Blood Money is by far one of the best games out there........very underrated.

I felt the same way about the first one, but I recently rented it again to give it another chance and it seems better now. They seem to have done some updates to get rid of most of the boring riding around the kingdom stuff. Anyway, I don't know why, but I like it much better this time. I've become pretty obsessed with finishing it, which I will hopefully do tonight.

And, it looks like they have added some more depth to the character and city this time. I'm actually looking forward to this one.

So, I finished Assassin's Creed tonight and I am really looking forward to AC 2. AC had it's control issues and it was a bit too repetitive with too many lulls in the action, but if they can work on that, add some depth to the city, keep the story moving a little faster and add elements like armor upgrades and new weapons, while keeping a nice story line, AC 2 should be great.
