Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are.

Serious question....who the heck is Morrissey? I mean i know he is a singer....but who is he?

Former lead singer of The Smiths and then went on to a solo career. He was part of the "college/alternative rock" scene in the 80's. Still fairly big in that scene and in England, which is where he is from.

I'm Widge and I don't find it funny. Although, I did find the "they have guns and Morrisey doesn't" joke amusing.

seems like this question was asked and answered at once.

I dont especially like Duke Dynasty but I do respect them. I am from West Monroe and it isn't easy to make it big without getting out of there.

Agreed. I did answer my question, but i still have no clue who he is. I meant was he a lead singer for X band, etc.

I know, google is my friend, but i was feeling lazy.

Morrissey is what you listen to when you're already depressed and want to be more depressed. I speak from experience.

I saw Morrissey when I was an undergrad some years ago. He came out in an Elvis-style black leather jumpsuit singing (I think) "The Boy with the Thorn in His Side" and when he had finished he buried his face in a bouquet of black roses a fan had given him. He started to weep before going on to the next song.

That's when I started reevaluating my taste in music.

I had a similar revelation about my taste in TV when I found myself watching Duck Dynasty.

This is for Widge. Because his life wouldn't be complete unless he saw this.

He also forbade his band mates from eating meat. Why Johnny Marr put up with him for so long...

And that Elvis jump suit, yeah seems like all his 90-00 solo stuff was an attempt to revive rockabilly which is funny given all his material is depressing.

If somebody stuck the 80's and modern hollywood into the halidron collidor and pressed start the result would be a Morrissey CD.
