Artististically these are nice. But not suitable for the intimidating world of football.

With the NFL in Mexico City for Texans-Raiders on Monday Night Football, the league had local artists reimagine every helmet. The results are below.

More about artistic expression then team identity. I like them for what they are supposed to be.

The Indianapolis kitchen tiles.

These are fun to look at, even if some of them are inscrutable. Some of the artists obviously prioritized game suitability, while others just went for eccentric visual interest. The Ravens and Lions helmets, for example, are sort of awesome, while the Packers and Vikings helmets are just strange, the Colts looks like kitchen tile, and the Cowboys looks like a dancer trying to, um, swing on a star.

And ours looks like two alternatively-lifestyled young ladies getting to know each other intimately. NTTAWT, of course.

NY Giants looks pretty cool

At least they got our colors correct. Looks kinda local too.

Looks like some got in a hurry and ran out of ideas. I'd call it a 50/50 -- half being pretty good, the other half nowhere near any category of good.

The Arizona and Atlanta helmets have a pretty rad luchador mask feel to them.
