Superman quarterback Drew Brees was grounded Sunday afternoon by an aggressive Buffalo Bills' defense and a fickle wind.
But the New Orleans Saints soared anyway in a 27-7 victory over Buffalo, getting a lift from their defense, special teams and rejuvenated tailback Pierre Thomas.
In many respects, it was the team's most impressive victory since the 2006 season, with Brees being held to 172 yards passing -- his lowest total since 2006 -- and, for the first time in the past 12 games, zero touchdowns.
