The New Orleans Saints' problematic preseason continued Friday night.
In the end, the Pittsburgh Steelers won the exhibition, 27-14, but the display by the Saints' starters was much worse than the final score.
The Saints' defense had looked good in the first two preseason games, but the group struggled mightily Friday, allowing 231 yards to the Steelers in the first quarter and 296 yards in the first half as Pittsburgh led 21-7 at the break.
Meanwhile, the offensive issues from the previous two exhibitions continued to plague the Saints. The blocking was suspect, and besides a couple early runs by C.J. Spiller, the rushing attack was unimpressive.
