Sean Payton's plan to stay as coach of the New Orleans Saints in 2017 kept the team on the short list for "Hard Knocks."

The Saints are one of eight teams that could be forced by the league into allowing HBO and NFL Films cameras and microphones into offices and meeting rooms for the documentary-style coverage of training camp this summer.

Unless a team volunteers to be on the show, the league can select from those that have not made the playoffs in the last two years, do not have a new head coach, and have not been on the program in the last 10 years.

That leaves the Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans and Saints as potential "Hard Knocks" teams...
