The New Orleans Saints are used to having one of the best offensive lines in the league but this year, their unit has been marred by injuries. That’s why it was smart of them to sign Forrest Lamp to their practice squad.
Lamp was a second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Chargers out of Western Kentucky. He didn’t get involved much in his first three seasons with the Bolts due to various injuries but last year played left guard in all 16 regular-season games.
What Lamp provides New Orleans is a player who has experience at left guard and, as Ian Rapoport noted when he broke the news, is still young. Lamp is only 27 years old and there’s no reason to think he can’t live up to the second-round stock he was branded with when the Chargers selected him. ...
