A local quarterback will get a shot to try out for his hometown team this week.
Former McNeese State and Holy Cross High quarterback James Tabary was invited to take part in the New Orleans Saints rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, FOX8 reports.
Tabary started for three seasons at Holy Cross for the Cowboys before departing initially for Arkansas State prior to his transfer to McNeese State.
Once there, he established a single season passing record with 249 pass completions and 415 pass attempts, leading to his being named the Southland conference player of the year.
