The Saints turned the ball over three times on Sunday and fell to the defending Super Bowl champions Steelers 38-31 at Pittsburgh´s Heinz Field. Steelers running machine Willie Harper broke free on runs of 72 and 76 yards and they were too much for the Saints to overcome.
The Steelers (3-6) quickly opened a 14-0 lead on Ben Roethlisberger´s touchdown passes to Hines Ward and Heath Miller, but the Saints (6-3) rallied to a 17-14 lead on Reggie Bush´s 15-yard touchdown run on a double reverse with Bush tumbling over safety Ryan Clark to reach the end zone. Clark is a Marrero native who played at LSU and recovered Bush´s fumble in the third quarter and Terrance Copper´s in the final period that ended the game for the Saints. He also had seven tackles.
