Does the best QB in the National Football League play for the New Orleans Saints? Drew Brees is the engine by which the Saints go. Since coming to the Saints in 2006, he has never thrown less than 4,388 yards per season. Add to this his lowest TD year (2006) of 26 touchdowns, and you can see why Brees is an NFL top gun.
This past year tested Brees, and his character came shining through. The Saints posted a 7-9 record, down dramatically from the 13-3 they posted in 2011. Head coach Sean Payton had to sit out the season with “Bounty Gate,” yet Brees still threw for 5,177 yards and 43 TD. Brees remained true to the team and loyal to his head coach. With his leadership, the Saints remarkably made it through this difficult season.
To further the “Best in NFL” discussion, let’s do a comparison to another star that has played one more year than Brees, Tom Brady.
