The New Orleans Saints have agreed to a three-year contract with restricted free-agent defensive end Junior Galette, the team announced Saturday. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately available.
The 6-2, 258-pound Galette, is expected to compete for one of the outside linebacker positions in the Saints' new 3-4 defensive scheme. In three seasons, Galette has 9 ½ career sacks, including a career high five last season.
Galette, originally signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent defensive end out of Stillman College in 2010, has been one of the Saints' top pass rushers the past two seasons.
