Speculation New Orleans to make a trade offer for Derrick Carr this week??? (2 Viewers)

If Loomis trades anything other than a conditional 7th, [Nope]. If Carr wants to come to the Saints, he can wait until he is cut and sign then. Since there is no way to take on his ridiculous contract, we would have to renegotiate a new one anyway.

Y'all better watch it. You're about to be lectured on how Loomis will offer fair compensation for Carr.
well parts of the value of the pick could be to keep him from tampa and not let him hit true open free agency and increase his value. Raiders eating any cap that helps us would be icing on the cake.

There's a ton of QB needy teams out there (many of them within our own division).... So if Carr is "our guy"... It would not be the worst thing in the world to trade for him before he's released to avoid a $$$ bidding war with other teams.... We are going to have to give him a new deal away... No one is going to pay him what he's set to make right now... As long as it's not a 1st or 2nd rounder.... I am good with it.

Please stop being reasonable. That isn’t welcome.
Sure.

Giving away our draft capital and overspending 20 million more dollars a year on Carr than what Dalton gives us for cheap is foolish. We aren't winning jack and Dennis Allen is a beta fish, i say beta fish cause they seldom survive past 2 years. :D

They should do it, but they shouldn't offer more than a 4th round pick. Unfortunately, we have learned that the Saints don't value draft picks as much as they should. It's like the word has gotten around town that there's an idiot who just moved in who thinks two twenties is worth more than one hundred dollar bill because 2 is more than 1.

True, but there is still a limit on what should be offered in a trade.

Flat out wrong.

A trade would be in order to facilitate a renegotiated deal where LV eats a portion of the contract. That’s the value of the pick, whatever it would be.
That won't be necessary . The Saints are allowed to talk to him prior to any deal and an agreement that makes his first year cap friendly could be done before any trade agreement is executed. That will lower the trade value ifrom what the Raiders will require if they take they have to take the cap hit this year themselves.
